Easy Home Made Dhokla

Ingredients

  • Besan – 1cup
  • Suji – 1/2 Cup
  • Curd – 1 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Haldi – Pinch
  • Mustard Seeds- 1/2 tsp
  • Heeng – Pinch
  • Ajwain – Pinch
  • ENO – I sachet
  • Red Chilli
  • Curry Leaves
  • Oil – 1/2 tsp

Steps to be followed

  • Mix Besan and Suji with curd and water (if required)
  • Add all the spices i.e. Salt, Haldi, Heeng, Ajwain to the batter
  • Keep it aside for 1/2 hr approx
  • Take an Idli mould and grease it with few drops of oil
  • In a cooker, Put 1 Cup water and bring to boil
  • Add ENO to the batter and spread it in the Idli mould
  • Put Idli mould in the cooker and cover without putting the weight (whistle)
  • Let the Idli’s / Dhokla cook for 20 – 25 min. on medium flame
  • Heat a wok (kadhai), add ½ tsp Oil.
  • Add Mustard Seeds and let sputter
  • Add Red Chilli and Curry Leaves
  • Add the Dhokla pieces to the mustard seeds and leave for few seconds on low flame
  • Serve hot with mint chutney
