Spicy Tofu Stir Fry

Ingredients

  • Oriental sesame oil – 2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Red pepper paste – 1/8 tsp
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • Sliced mushrooms – 2 cups
  • Firm tofu, diced – 1/2 cup
  • Celery sliced – 2 stalks
  • Red & green peppers, julienne – 2 cups
  • Sliced cabbage – 2 cups
  • Bean sprouts – ΒΌ cup
  • Few drops soy sauce
  • 8-10 roasted almonds (optional)

 

Method for Sambhar Powder

  • Stir fry the tofu and keep aside. Preheat the wok or skillet over high heat
  • Add the oil, onion and spices, cooking until onions soften (2 to 3 minutes)
  • Add mushrooms, tofu and celery cooking for another 2 to 3 minutes
  • Add the cabbage and pepper julienne and cook covered for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring twice
  • Add sprouts and soy sauce
  • Toss with tofu dices and then add almonds before serving
